Star Tech Celebrates 20 Years of Exceptional Service

It’s an incredible milestone — 20 years since Star Tech first opened its doors and began welcoming customers into what has become one of Dorset’s leading independent specialist service centres. From humble beginnings to a thriving, award-winning business, the journey has been remarkable, and the values it was built on remain as strong as ever.
Since launching in 2006, Star Tech has proudly provided Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar, MINI and Smart owners with a trusted alternative to the main dealer experience. Built on integrity, transparency and genuine care, the business has grown steadily while always putting customers first.
At the heart of Star Tech is Managing Director Matt Peacock, whose passion for the automotive industry began early in his career as a vehicle technician. After working his way up to Senior Technical Advisor at a local Mercedes-Benz dealership, Matt developed both strong technical expertise and a clear understanding of what customers truly value. It was this experience that inspired him to do things differently.
Recognising that something was missing from the dealership experience — the personal touch and genuine care — Matt founded Star Tech with a clear vision: to combine dealership-level expertise with “good old fashioned” customer service.
Twenty years on, that vision continues to drive the business forward. Star Tech consistently invests in the latest diagnostic technology, tools and training to ensure its dealer-trained technicians remain at the forefront of an ever-evolving industry. In 2025, the business took another step forward with the launch of Star Tech EV, extending its expertise to electric and hybrid vehicles and reinforcing its commitment to staying ahead in a changing automotive landscape.
At the same time, the team has grown substantially but still retains the friendly, family feel established from day one — something customers value just as much as the technical excellence on offer.
Beyond business success, supporting the local community has always been central to Star Tech. Over the years, the team has proudly supported charitable organisations including Julia’s House and Dorset Mind, both of which carry out vital work in the community. Giving back remains an important part of the company’s identity.
Reflecting on the past two decades, Matt comments:
